KMOP

KMOP

INTRODUCING KMOP

KMOP or the KMO Portfolio was created in 2014 by VLAIO, the Flemish Agency for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Vlaams Agentschap Ondernemen en Innoveren) with the aim of boosting the economy. Thanks to this KMO Portfolio, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises that follow training and/or seek advice from a registered service provider may be eligible for a subsidy.

In order to register as a service provider as a company within the framework of the KMO portfolio, you must prove that you meet the KMOP standard, a number of specific conditions set by the Flemish government. For this you need to go through an audit, for which you can contact us.
Bureau Veritas was appointed by VLAIO as an audit firm for the KMO Portfolio.

KMOP SCOPE

For companies that advise and/or set up training courses with SMEs and professionals.

KMOP STANDARD CONTENT

The service provider must meet five basic requirements, with each basic requirement being tested against different indicators:
Activity: What does the service provider offer, and how is it communicated to the outside world?
Proof of Experience: Who are the trainers/advisors, and what are their qualifications?
Customer satisfaction: How does the service provider measure, register and process customer satisfaction?
Knowledge of the KMO Portfolio: Does the service provider know all the requirements of the KMO Portfolio?
Integrity: Are laws, regulations and generally accepted commercial practices complied with?

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

The duration of the audit depends on the size and complexity of your organisation, and on the service(s) for which you register (training and/or advice). An audit visit usually lasts one to two days. The timetable on the basis of which the duration is determined, as well as the hourly price, are determined by VLAIO. This means that the audit cost at each audit firm will be the same.

During the audit visit, our auditor will check to what extent you, as a prospective service provider, are in line with the requirements within the standard. Based on the scores for the indicators, the auditor, in consultation with the certification committee, will make a ruling on whether or not to meet the individual requirements, and to comply with the KMOP standard as a whole. The competent minister will then decide on the registration based on the audit report. After a positive decision, the registration application will be completed and you will receive the recognition for the KMO Portfolio, with a validity period of 5 years.

More information about the registration procedure and the course of the audit can be found on the VLAIO website.
